The wait is finally over and Veeam Backup for Office 365 (VBO) V5 is officially GA. I am so excited about this new version. In this post, we will look at how quickly and easily you can upgrade you VBO V4 to V5.
VBO V5 Server Upgrade
Step 1: Download V5 from https://veeam.com/backup-microsoft-office-365-download.html For the purpose of this blog version 5.0.0.1061 was used.
Step 2: Navigate to where you downloaded the V5 ZIP.
Step 3: Extract the ZIP.
Step 4: Launch Veeam.Backup365_5.0.0.1061.msi
Step 5: Once the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 Setup launches click Next.
Step 6: Read and accept the EULA and click Next.
Step 7: Confirm the components you are installing and the install location and click Next.
Step 8: Click Install.
Step 9: Now sit back and relax.
Step 10: Accept the UAC popup.
Step 11: Now sit back and relax again.
Step 12: Once completed click Finish.
Step 13: Once complete open the Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 console logging in with your details and credentials
Step 14: Once open click on Backup Infrastructure and click on Backup Repositories.
Step 15: Select all the Out of Date Repositories and click Upgrade Repository.
Step 16: Now sit back and relax. Once complete you will see your repositories are up to date.
Veeam Explorer for Exchange
Step 1: Run the VeeamExplorerForExchange.msi
Step 2: Once the installer launches click Next.
Step 3: Accept the EULA and click Next.
Step 4: Confirm the components you are installing and the install location and click Next.
Step 5: When ready click Install.
Step 6: On the UAC prompt click Yes.
Step 7: Now sit back and relax.
Step 8: Once the installer completed click Finish.
Veeam Explorer for SharePoint
Step 1: Run the VeeamExplorerForSharePoint.msi
Step 2: Once the installer launches click Next.
Step 3: Accept the EULA and click Next.
Step 4: Confirm the components you are installing and the install location and click Next.
Step 5: When ready click Install.
Step 6: On the UAC prompt click Yes.
Step 7: Now sit back and relax.
Step 8: Once the installer completed click Finish.
Veeam Explorer for Teams
Step 1: Run the VeeamExplorerForTeams.msi
Step 2: Once the installer launches click Next.
Step 3: Accept the EULA and click Next.
Step 4: Confirm the components you are installing and the install location and click Next.
Step 5: When ready click Install.
Step 6: On the UAC prompt click Yes.
Step 7: Now sit back and relax.
Step 8: Once the installer completed click Finish.
CONGRATULATIONS you have now successfully upgrade VBO Server and Explorers from V4 to V5.
